Banjo Magic: How Banjo can help in the kitchen

As part of the wonderful letters that your little one receives, they’ll also have a recipe from the country that Banjo is visiting. We know how much fun they have in the kitchen and so wanted to share with you some ideas that will let the Banjo magic continue when you’re making food together:

Recipes

We have a LOT of recipes that we share with you regularly but we’ve put together a two page printable of some of our favourites here. Let us know which you like best!

Tidying up the mess!

This is a great opportunity for your child to help with clearing up the mess. Get them to help with the washing, putting away any ingredients, wiping up spills and you can have a lovely chat whilst doing this. This will help them become aware of making sure everywhere is clean and that the fun is all tidied away until next time. It also really helps give children a sense of responsibility for their environment! Talk about how Banjo would help in the kitchen too.

Make some recipes of your own

Why not get paper and pencils out and let your little one get creative? Would they want to add ice cream to the sandwich they’ve just made? What would be their ideal Sunday lunch? Get the conversation started then ask them to write or draw about it! Knowing that they can think of whatever food combination they want will really spark their imagination! They may even have a fabulous idea for a recipe that you may want to do together.
